Who Would Benefit
Morgan-Greer decks offer a stylish deviation from the RWS Tarot but follows the same framework, so a good deck for a newbie ready to branch out.

What I Loved
Morgan-Greer whilst new to my shelf is already sitting comfortably and ever present in readiness for a reading.
The characters in the cards are distinct and expressive - perfect for readings where you need to move steadily without losing depth.
Opportunities & Challenges
The artwork on the Morgan-Greer is bold and confident. The card’s canvas is fully loaded offering enough symbolism to hold your attention across a full reading.
Challenges are very few with this deck…from a newbie’s lens, you may struggle with the guidebook that is included, as only a very high level of information is provided.
Card Quality & Handling
Card Stock & Feel
Good feel, light weight and comfortable in your hand ⭐⭐
Print Quality & Colour
The print quality is good and the colours are dramatic and follow the traditional palette ⭐⭐
Card Size & Handling
The deck I purchased is slightly smaller than a traditional tarot card, making it great to handle ⭐⭐
Notes on Card Quality
The cards have more elasticity than the RWS, and retain their new vibe after a stern shuffle
The Guidebook

Depth & Clarity of Meaning
The guidebooks are very high level for the minor and major arcana, outlining the divination meanings – including reversals ⭐
Writing Style
High level ⭐
Notes on Guidebook
A quick reference for the new reader
Box / Packaging Quality
Love, love, love the tin rather than a cardboard box. So much stronger. This is my first choice when placing in a handbag that is already bulging and crowded for room ⭐⭐⭐
My Review
I purchased this deck in late 2025, and it quickly became one I reach for when I want depth with strong visual presence.
I have always been drawn to the character style. Compared to the more symbolic structure of the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot Deck, this deck feels closer, more human. The figures are cropped in tighter, which pulls you directly into the emotion and narrative of each card. It gives the deck a distinctly old-world presence without feeling dated.
The Minor Arcana stand out. Each suit carries a clear and cohesive storyline aligned to its element. You can thread messages together with ease during a reading. The patterns are bold and deliberate, guiding interpretation. In contrast, with the RWS system, I often rely more on the numerical symbolism. Here, the imagery does more of the storytelling for you.
The colour palette is another strength.
Vibrant reds and yellows bring energy and immediacy
Deep, earthy tones ground the imagery
Contrast is used effectively to highlight key elements
Details feel intentional. Sword handles stand out sharply. The Tower appears heavier and more menacing. These small visual choices add weight to interpretations without overcomplicating the scene.
The practical design is also worth noting. The deck comes in a tin, which makes storage simple and durable. If you travel with your cards or use them frequently, this is a genuine advantage.
This is a highly readable, character-driven deck that balances richness with clarity. It suits readers who prefer expressive imagery over abstract symbolism, while still staying aligned with traditional tarot structure.
